in my [flip] flops

hey you all!!! i’m applying for a scholarship and all you have to do is vote for my picture here!

i entered the crazy spikes photo taken during finals week last year. i’m a little late entering this contest so i gotta get all the votes i can get in the next month (deadline is August 1, 2008)!!! You can vote once a day, so please please vote and tell your friends to vote too. PLEASE?!

this weekend was pretty much incredible. it’s kinda hard to sit here and watch youtube videos from the tegan & sara concert at bogart’s in cincinnati (5/9/08), and believe that it actually happened. it’s hard to sum up the show with any limited amount of descriptors so bullet points have been chosen to assist in the weekend recap.

• lines started forming at 8am
• mimosas for breakfast
• i spot sara walking towards us - she hangs out with the fans in front of the venue!!!
• mindy made cue cards for tegan (and tells sara about the plan)
• FRONT ROW!!! in front of SARA!!!
• “clap over head” sign
• tegan tries to text a fan’s dad with their cell phone
• sara takes the cue cards from mindy and holds them up for tegan during “i know…”
• the security guard was totally diggin’ the show. sara thanked him for his enthusiasm at the end!

simply amazing! the show couldn’t have been any better. i wish this was the show tegan and sara recorded for the new dvd!

garrison starr played at some random bbq bar/restaurant in louisville, ky last night. the sound system was jacked up, but they some how made it work when she got up on stage. she is incredible. and that’s all that needs to be said here. i wish i had footage from the performance last night, but i don’t. but this is one of my favorite songs!!!

she will be playing in 3 cities in ky in june, but we are planning to be at bonnaroo that weekend. i’m glad we got to make it to last night’s show. i wish she’d come back later this summer and play at a better venue with more appropriate acoustics!

it’s officially flip flop season, and i haven’t had time to post my favorite flip flops for 2008 yet, but my love for rainbow sandals will never die.  my post from last year, with tips of breaking in rainbow flip flops is averaging around 90 views a day.  to hold you over until i can get past finals, and put together my top flops entry, here’s a link to that post.  enjoy!

my girlfriend is blogging.  she has joined the wordpress world and set up her blog.  i linked her site to my page under the blogroll “my girlfriend blogs too.”  she’s pretty amazing.  ;)  check it out.

she’s the most beautiful distraction. she’s always on my mind. i love her more than i ever thought possible. she’s the song in my heart, that i never want to leave. i want to spend my days with her, every day, every minute…just enjoying every moment with her.
